Mauser Werke obendorf 22 LR
I have this wonderful Mauser Werke 22 LR, a very old model with tiny schanable forend and Prince of whales grip, has model 21 brno drop left side type safety and a awesome trigger pull...5 shot clip, grooved receiver, and an old Lyman receiver sight..shoots great at 50 yards about quarter size round groups or better with peep and better with the scope.

The grooved receiver for scope mounting but don't know what scope bases will fit..the closes thing Ive seen to it is the Mauser Werke mod 201, but mine is much earlier than that..Mauser stamp in wood and seems to be a commercial model of the german 22 training Mausers..

I have a cheap pair of 22 rings that I got fitted on it now, but they are cheapies, they are working for now..

I need a nice set of rings for a grooved..Are they available in 1" or 7/8s inch for my Leupold Alaskan would be great...

Gunsmiths give me a quote on a two piecs two screw rings to fit the dovetail..simple but nice. contact rayatkinsonhunting@gmail.com prefer the 7/8" low rings simular to the Talley with a large screw on the bottom and smaller one on tap...????????suggestions are welcome..too nice a rifle to not fix up proper..

It just plain cute..

Ray, Millett used to make a good all-steel mount for grooved .22's on which the clamps would squeeze down small enough to grasp some of the smaller-than-usual European grooved tops. You might look for a set of those on some of the internet outlets.

He is correcting you.
You referred to the grip in your original post as a Prince of Whales. It is not. It is Prince of Wales.

Wales, not whale.

One is an ocean mammal, the other is a country that is part of the United Kingdom.

One has a grip named after it, the other does not.

All in good fun, I'm sure.

Talley makes a high ring, which is my preference for most. They make it for the 11mm and 3/8” dovetail.
