jack, i have half a dozen actions, fn, santa barbara, and mk10 and they are all 3006, was wondering? about rechambering to some other cartridge, as they will all be restocked and so on. i am not saying 06 is bad its just i have a couple done up and just wanted some different calibers and trying to be cheap by not buying a bunch of barrels. i have saved these guns over the years because they all have the lighter weight barrel profiles. just thinking out loud......

I am working on a big diameter feeder.. and I am not looking forward to it... however, a 30-06 ai, with a longish barrel, 150 gr bullets and rl22 is a darn fine combo jeffe

Daniel M--- The "H&H gap" is a bevel ground in the corner of the follower about half way down. You see it on the new Winchesters. It allows the base of the case to rotate to the left and under the extractor.

RE: Utilizing a Mauser for a WSM. My question is, why? The theory behind the WSM is to achieve similar cartridge performance in an action shorter (and a rifle lighter) than that required of a "standard" length round (case about 2.5"). Those objectives hold some advantages. Since the Mauser can be easily and successfully modified to handle a 2.5" belted magnum case, which will give a bit more velocity than the WSM, and since chambering a Mauser for a WSM would neither shorten the action nor lighten the gun, what would be the point?
