Does anyone have any info or link on what to do when a Dragunov's scope is out of internal adjustment and still isn't sighted in? The scope is the Belarus made psop 8X. The scope and mount are integral and seem to have some method of adjustment built into the base. Every adjustment though appears to be epoxied at a set position from the factory. I'm guessing that the mounts adjustment is meant to be calibrated at the factory and not messed with afterwards. Which leads me to believe that the problem might be with the rifle.

Is there any way to gain additional travel from the internal adjustment dials?

Any info would be appreciated.

I would assume that the epoxy is similar to that used on trigger adjustment screws that come from the factory, put there so the user won’t mess with them.

If you remove it you ought to be able to adjust the base since there is no way I am aware of to increase the internal adjustments of a scope.

Are you running out of windage or elevation adjustments...or both?

The guy is out of both. As to the dials, the dials are like Bushnell BDC turret caps. They have a veiwable reference for height and windage but that doesn't mean that the range allowed by the knobs is all the scope has. The knobs are attached to a central post which is slotted for a screwdriver and the two are kept from turning independently by a small set screw. I removed the set screw and attempted to turn the adjuster while holding the knob stationary. The adjuster didn't seem to want to move, but I didn't try very hard. What I need to know is weather the two can be moved seperately, If they can, I'll have no problem.

This is hard to picture without actually seeing the scope and mount.

As for the dials/knobs...the numbers or marks are irrelevant since you can only turn them so far in either direction, which is the maximum amount of adjustment for that scope.
