Brownells has quite a few books - I was directed there - problem is I want to buy each one - plus the stockmaking kit - way too much $$ to get it all at once.

Two come to mind. "Professional Stockmaking" by John Wesbrook is an excellent resource for inletting and shaping a stock "from the blank". There is another book, by Alvin Linden, I think, but I have not read it.

Can anyone help me find resources on making your own stock from a blank?
I know it's a huge deal to make a good stock, but I found some cheap wood I wouldn't mind ruining for the education. Surely there's some good books, or a website, maybe?
