I have what I believe is a '95 mauser action, but I dont know the manufacturer.
It has no crown or any markings on the front of the action, and no writing on the side rails except for the letters "OT" and a five digit number, which also appears on the floorplate.
The floorplate is hinged at the front like a Mk 10 but has a push button release on the side of the trigger guard, at the front.
Can anyone identify this action ??

Spanish, I believe. May or may not have a square bottom on the bolt head (1893 vs 1895), no real strength difference. Also could be Turkish I suppose.

So-called Spanish 1916 model. Basically, a '93 with gas vents added. Many were fired with 7.62 NATO or .308 rounds, check well for setback before procceding to build on it. Oh wait, Mausers don't setback. Big Grin

From the information I've received so far, it looks like a 1916 ('93 ) spanish mauser, also a bit of a rare one as it had the hinged floorplate.
It had been converted to 7.62.

Not that rare and it's irrelevant since it's already been modified. Would make a nice little 7x57 stalking rifle though, have at it and enjoy!
