I have a M70 Laredo 26" blue barrel and brown precision stock. It was a factory 7MM Mag that was rechambered to 7STW. Has had less than 500 rds through it. Groups handloads in the .5-.75MOA range. It has collected dust for 10 years in my safe and I need the room. Should I part it out or sell as a complete rifle? What is the going market for something like this? As usual just my $.02 Paul K

Recently a local gun shop wanted to sell me a M-70 push feed action but wanted me to bid on it so I did.....my bid was $150 and it was the highest bid.....they decided to sell the gun whole and there are several M-70 rifles (push feed) rifles locally for $400 in extremely good condition. A .270, a .338 WM, a 7MM RM.... These are very fine rifles but don't seem to bring the sales if it's a push feed.....I call them very good bargains but already have too many of them!
I'd suggest selling as a complete rifle and probably $400 is what the market will bear. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." This is NOT a pushfeed rifle. It is CRF. I'll let it collect dust before I sell it for $400. As usual just my $.02 Paul K

CRF's model 70's have steadily been dropping in value over the last 12 months. 7mm bores seem to be worth the least as of late due to fading popularity. I just paid $565 for a 7mm mag model 70 and the price included shipping to my dealer and to be honest I think I overpaid by about $50. If you could move the rifle for $500 I would sell it if I were you. Otherwise I would part it out and sell it in pieces. The action alone would most likely bring over $600. Weird, I know, but they are often worth more in pieces than the complete rifle. My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

Guess I didn't realize the market and dropped that far. Guess I'll just save it for a future project or if I really need to reach out and touch something. As usual just my $.02 Paul K

My apologies....I (wrongly) assumed a pushfeed..... If this action is successfully feeding the 7MM STW then it probably will handle the .375 H&H nicely too..... Winchesters are still not available in that length action and those that want a M-70 in .375 or even .416 Remington pay well for them. One will shell out at least $800 for a new M-70 in .300 mag and then opening it to the longer rounds.....add another $150..... If it was mine, I'd verify that it feeds the .375 H&H and list the action alone on the classifieds for $700.....I think it'll sell especially if it's stated to feed .375 H&H rounds. You should be able to get another$100 or so for the stock but the barrel may be a tomato steak. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery."
