Hi all, I put a new scope on the 06 last week and thought I'd use some cheap MFS, my bad looked at the wrong box, 150 FMJ ammo I had to get it on target. On the 4th shot, the gun was louder and kicked more. I opened the bolt and the primer fell out of the case. It was totally flattened. Is this just garbage ammo? Should I try to send it back to them? I sure won't shoot anymore, maybe I'll just pull all the bullets and reuse the brass.
The gun is a M-98 and doesn't appear to be hurt at all.

Thoughts?

I find that very supprising,I shoot lots of s&b in an AR,I dont load for it cause good ammo like s&b is cheap,I have had bad experances with bosnian HOTSHOT SS109(when they say HOT they mean it)!!!I think I would pull the bullets and save the brass

I've done that a few time handloading my .30-06 super-improved. [Eek!] [Roll Eyes]

My guess is that, for whatever reason, the load was in the 75,000+ psi range. 64,000 psi is SAAMI spec max. Methink primers pocket get way loose around 70,000 psi. Of course, the brass could be soft in the case head, but you say it sounded louder and kicked harder.
