I was wondering if there are very many gunsmiths out there that would be interested in building there own double rifles if they could purchase the components. I currently sell all the components except the barrels to a custom gunmaker ($3,000.00). He purchases the barrels from my source and fits them into the monoblock.
Just curious.

Hello - I don't know about Doubles, but there is a gap in "kipplauf" style single-shot actions, these were once readily available from Germany but as far as I know . . . no more. The main problem for us "rest of world" folk is that export from the US is so problematical and expensive.

I am interested. Did not know you currently did that.

Also very interested in any break action single shot you may make. I have been toying with the idea of making one from scratch. Still very much in the "toying" stage, but would jump on a nice action alread made, even if it was still oversize, rough, and needed a lot of work to make it funciton and ifnish it up. A sidelock with DST's would be even more better yet.

Butch

I would be interested.
I would like some more information. You say all components except barrels. Does this include stock and forearm, barrel ribs, sights? What type of metal, stainless or chromoly? What stage of finish are the components, as cast, rough machined or what? Barrel source, PAC-NOR?
I apologize for so many questions but I don't know what you are offering.
You can answer here, PM or e-mail, bgw@wildblue.net.
Thanks,

James

I'm offering all the parts for the double except barrels and wood for $3,000.00. Barrels from PACNOR run about $300.00 each. They are contoured, threaded for my monoblock, and chambered. Of course there not crowned. This is Option 1.
Option two is I furnish a complete action but not finish shaped and polished. Monoblock fitted and ready for barrels.
Option 2 Price: $6,000.00
Option 3:
Complete barreled action, not finish shaped or polished. Work remaining on it. Stock, engrave, regulate, blue in that order.
Option 3 price: $8,500.00

Option 4: This option is available only to qualified shops.
For $15K I will furnish all the tooling and fixtures, plus training, and support to start your own turnkey double operation.
You will also get parts at reduced prices.

Thats a damn inexpensive investment. If I could do it and had the facilities to support the business. I'd be up there same day with cash in hand.

Build three good rifles and your investment is paid for.... Give or take a few bucks
