Thought I would move this post to GunSmithing.

Found a Mauser GWE 98 in a shop today that some one hung a 220 swift barrel on and a 60's style stock. Without taking of the scope bases I could see the date 1916. Someone spent time with this action as it smooth (jeweled bolt)and the trigger was clean and crisp. The price tag read $375.00 and I could probably squeeze a few more out of it......
My thoughts were a possible project gun, new barrel, caliber to be determined later and re-work the wood...
How much room is in this action can I run a 9.3x62
Any buyer bewares concerning this action????
