Looking in Gunlist, Armor Internation is selling newly manufactured in Belgium, M98 commercial style Mauser barreled actions with M70 safety, hinged magazine box, adjustable trigger, and lowered bolt for $399.00. It looks like a good basis for a custom gun.
Anyone have any experience with or actually seen one of these?
If so, can you comment on quality?

Sounds like all you need is a stock. I bought a couple Santa Barbara barreled actions, about 15yrs ago, got them for $119 each. Still got one in .270, it's had thousands of rounds thru it, and still shoots .5in groups.

The Gunlist is the only place I've ever seen any info on Armor International... How bad can they be?
Also, is the Charles Daly Mausers supposed to be imported soon and get this lefties-- a dedicated left hand Mauser! A short action Mauser is supposed to be in the offering as well... that would please me greatly.
Anyone got more info/pics?

I bought three of these last spring.From Alex Import's LA MESA, CA. 91942, TEL. (619) 296-1759. They are double square bridge and take the same mount's and ring's as the Dumoulin action"s,stradle floorplate like a PME (wider than a reg. 98), 3.43" inside,adjustable trigger that set's back like an original Mauser, 3 position safety work's very smooth. The machine work below the stock line ,although not bad is not as smooth as say a German 98 (slight chatter mark's).Doesnt matter since I will clean up even what is not seen when I build a rifle. The Global Safari is identical but has a better finish for $299.00 action only. One is made from 4140 and the other is made from Swedish steel doesnt say what alloy. I got a Global from alex a couple of week's ago. He said he had a few Global's left and quite a few barreled Armor International'S left. A short time ago someone said the Global's were cast (you must not like Ruger's) they are forged then cnc machined. I believe either one is a tremendous value for the money. Alex said the barrel's were just average hunting quality but I sold one to a machinist friend of mine that does most of his own gunsmithingand after bedding in some kind of cheap synthetic stock he said the first 3 shot's at one hundred yard's were touching with 300 Win factory ammo. One that I am building in 7 x 64 on a African theme for a doctor I will pull the unfired barrel and replace with a select match barrel. I can't remember which one is 4140 and which one is Swedish steel. I marked it down and put it on my desk but I can't find the top of my desk. Alex list's the trigger's and 3 position safety's at very good price's. If any one is interested I can get my daugher to scan the literature. I can machine to very close tolerance's but I can't figure out that scanner. I am impressed enought with these action's for the money that for the first time in 32 year's of gunsmithing I am going to build myself a couple of rifle's. One other thing they have to put those damm little import stamp's on them, but they will be gone when I clean them up and rust blue them. Hope this info help's on these two action's

Cobalt; I don't think Alex has any of the Global's left with the mag bolt face. I believe he has Armor barreled action's in short mag's and 375 H&H. I don't like the long mag's in these action's because they ground the action forward like F N did and Mark x did also. The one's I have are 30-06 bolt face with a inside length of 3.43" so you don't have to do anything to the magazine. The 375 inside length is 3.62. The bolt handle is like a F N . I prefer a straight down tear drop like an Oberndorf so I cut it off and tig a Dave Talley knob on. Every one has their own taste's this is mine. You couldn't buy the part's to convert a military action for this price and you still wouldn't have a double square bridge. The 300 Win Mag didn't want to feed good ar first about 10 or 15 minute's with a stone and it fed flawlessly, some thing any one could do.

Thank you for the information, I'm ordering one of the Global Actions today. If they are out of the Global, I'll go with the Armor. The action will be the basis for the rifle I'm building for my daughter.

I got my daughter to scan these. She tell's me the printing will be hard to read, but hear goes anyway. Well that didn't work. I can send it e-mail but I can't figure out how to send it to the forum. Any suggestion's?
