Can you tell me about the Lyman 48 MJ .

It has the target knobs and the later (postwar?) mounting base.

Possibly for Swedish Mauser rifle ?

Looking at my 1936 Lyman Sights catalog and in Stroebels "Old Gunsights" there is no Lymn 48 MJ configuration.

But there is a Lyman 48 J for the Winchester Model 52 with target knobs, a Lyman 48 WJ for the Winchester Model 54 with target knobs and a Lyman 48 SMP for the 1896 Swedish Mauser.

Quoting from the insert in the catalog:

"The large target model knobs furnished on the Nos. 48J, 48Y and 48L, sights have 20 and 16 graduations respectively, giving change of .002" or 1/4" at 100 yards."
