I have been calling around and here in town (Austin, TX), and the lowest quote was $809. I know they can be found a lot cheaper as I've heard of members of this and other forums getting them for closer to $600. Any recommendations? How difficult is it to buy rifles across state lines. Thanks.

Look up East County Guns on the web. Call & ask for Andy. He'll have to ship to an FFL dealer in your state but that typically only involves a small fee. Andy's got good prices and is a stand up guy. Ed

busdriver,
I'm at the Austin gun show every month and I could order one from my wholesaler in Austin for cheaper than that.
Give me an e-mail if I can help.

Go the 10% Gun Shop on Burnet Lane. Jim Kent can order one for you (He may try to talk you out of it). Burnet lane is parallel to Burnet Road. Takes off at Roger Beasley Mazda. Just behind the old Academy Surplus store on Burnet Road. McBrides has one for about 800 bucks. Don't do that.

You are obviously not looking hard enough to find a deal better than $809. Contact the guy below if you want one for less. Good luck.

The post above this one, The Gun Shop in Ga., has the 416 Rigby in stock for $629. He charges $18 shipping and handling whether you live 20 miles down the road from him or in Texas. That's $647 shipping to your FFL dealer and Phil, the fellow who owns the place is a realy stand-up man. I have bought four CZs from him in the past two years and recommend him every chance I get, which is exactly what I am doing now! Tom Purdom [Big Grin]

Thanks a lot everyone, I really appreciate the help. I will check with the local guy Mike recommended, then check into the others as well. One More question though. Does an FFL dealer charge as well and if so how much is it normally? Thanks again.

Phil owns the Gun Shop just north of Atlanta. He has the best prices and is great to deal with. Go to the CZ web sight then to the CZ Connection. I have purchased 4 CZ's from Phil. Cobalt

Phil said $18 shipping and handling in the United States. I assume that Alaska is in the United States. It would be easy enough to check though ... just call him on the toll-free number. Now, as to FFL prices, I would pay $20 to $25 and no more. Some of them advertise they will get your rifle for you, but they have to do all the paperwork (that is sending off a copy of their FFL to the dealer in an envelope. which is about $1 worth and maybe two or three minutes worth of time) and then say the have to have 10 percent of the cost of the rifle just to break even. Bull ... Most of the gun auction sites have those "find and FFL" feature. Go there and you should be able to find one in your neck of the woods, but make sure of his total costs up front, so there are no hard feelings after. Tom Purdom [Big Grin]
