I want to make an extra set of 20-gauge shot barrels for one of my shotguns and cannot find a source of barrel blanks. Anybody have a source? My plan is to machine a new monoblock and all new forend metal. If that turns out ok, the next project will bushing the firing pins and making a set of rifle barrels.

Hastings used to sell barrel blanks. You would have to call them to see if they still do. Lothar Walther also used to produce blanks in all gauges. Again, you would have to call them for pricing and distribution in the USA.

When I was a kid. I had the stick. I had the rock. And I had the mud puddle. I am as adept with them today, as I was back then. Lets see today's kids say that about their IPods, IPads and XBoxes in 45 years!

I am hoping to get modern steel tubes that if all works out, I can have screw-in chokes installed in.

there is a company in Oregon that makes them. perhaps www.thegunworks.com. They advertise in Muzzleloader Magazine that they are the master distributor for ORegon Barrel Company for smoothbore OR rifled barrels from .30 caliber up to 2-bore, lengths up to 35".

I was in the Brux barrel shop a few weeks ago and noticed a bunch of 20ga barrel blanks laying in the back of the shop. Don't know if it was just an experiment or what and I forgot to ask them about them as they looked like very good blanks for a SxS type application. You might call them up and ask about them. (608)592-3324. They looked fairly OLD, past projects kind of thing.
