Has anyone had any experiences good or bad with polygonal rifling? I was thinking in particular of a Pac Nor barrel. My only experiences has been with Glock and H&K's, which doesn't have much bearing on a rifle barrel. A shot not taken is always a miss

My wife has been shooting an H&K 770 for about 20 years, cleans easy, shoots straight and is an accurate .308. Generally a good barrel rifling method with several advantages to the long range shooter. Smoother bullet surface (more effective BC)and supposedly higher velocities, a claim I would doubt. JStevens: I have owned a bunch of HK semi-auto sporting rifles over the years---all with polygonal rifling. All shot very well. Lothar Walther makes a polygonal rifled barrel in a few calibers. They say polygonal rifling is particularly good in high-volume shooting situations [viz., semi-autos or automatics]. I had an HK 630 for years [semi-auto sporter .223]. It was incredibly accurate. with the right ammo it would consistely put 5 shots into a dime sized group at 100 yards. The HK 300 rimfire [.22 WMR] is also known for exceptional accuracy. The ones I have owned all shot very well for semi-auto rifles, especially rimfires. Jordan
