I have located two short Mauser actions. The owner called them "Banner" He doesn't know who made them. He says his father bought them in Germany in the 50s. I have pictures but don't know how to post them. I will email the pics to anyone kind enough to help me. He has asked me to make an offer and I need to know what they are worth. Thanks for your help.

lets put it this way. If they are true "Kurz" actions, they are worth quite a bit of money becasue they are so desireable for making custom rifles in the .250 Savage range of calibers, and becasue they are quite rare. How much is difficult to say. they are worth what somebody would pay for them, but again, I am sure there are a lot of people (including me) who would like to have those actions.

You should try to find out all of the markings on the actions, and also determie whether they have been altered in any way.

I would definitely say that they are worth at least what a G.330/40 action is worth, and maybe more. G.33/40 actions in top condition can go for up to $500.00.

Did you get your 376 finished yet?

this gentleman has built at least one rifle on a banner action, and you may call him and talk

i'll "offer" $100 each, sight unseen, providing that there is not rust above the wood line

Unfortunately, "short" is often a relative term when applied to Mausers, which may range from Magnum-length down to Kurz-length, with standard and intermediate in between.
Measure the distance between action screw centers, and we can begin to zero in on what you have.

OK guys, Thanks, Jeffe, the metal work is all done on the 376 and he's working on the stock. I sure hope $100 will buy them. Thanks Mark, I already emailed the pics to another guy. Appreciate the help.
