I really need some schematics or other detailed instructions on assembling a set of double-set triggers for an older large Martini rifle.

I gave my rifle to a local "master gunsmith" over a year ago for rebluing of the barrel and action. He promised a quick return.

When he had not yet even started on it after a year, I recently demanded it back.

I got it back alright, with ALL the internal mechanisam parts disassembled and in a plastic bag...including the breech block, firing pin assembly, double set triggers, and everything else related to the firing mechanism.

I am not even sure all the parts are there, though I hope/assume they are.

Anyhow, I have no wish to damage any of the trigger springs, tumblers, trigger set levers, pins, or anything else by putting it together wrong.

If not a schematic, perhaps some one of you might be willing to do the job of reassembling the triggers to their lockplate? If you would, contact by PM with shipping instructions for the trigger parts is perfectly okay by me...and I can give you my e-mail address, phone number, and whatever contact info you may need. I am, of course, willing to pay for your help.

Thanks in advance

AC

Is that the double set with basically triggers facing front and back? One at the back of the bow the other at the front?

As usual just my $.02

Ramrod -

No, it is one of a multi-lever design, with both triggers at the back, facing forward.

Thanks for the response, though, I appreciate your attempt to assist.

Anyway, with the help of another "smith" in this area, I now have the triggers back together.

All I have to do now is to get the original "master gunsmith" to find and give back the major screws and pins which hold the whole action together. What a pain in the butt this has turned out to be....

My country gal's just a moonshiner's daughter, but I love her still.

When I'm faced with a project like yours, it only takes me a minute or two to snap a few photos with my IPhone so I can get it back together, but some people don't like modern technology. Glad your getting it sorted out.

Once upon a time I rebuilt the engine for a late 1970s pickup with all of the pollution control vacuum lines. I just coded each line with tape and then photographed everything...with a 35mm. Even months later I was able to get it to start on the first try.
