My regular smith for the last many years has slowed down due to other reasons....
What we usually need is the smaller stuff like
Adding pads...reducing LOP and reinstalling pad...
Shortening shotgun barrels...
Shortening rifle barrels..and on Levers the mag tube also and reinstalling front sight...
On these cold blue touch up is fine..
Another example is installing an ebony type tip on the forearm on some stocks...
Maybe drilling and tapping for sights or swivels....
Maybe silver soldering sights on,front, rear or both...
Last, maybe refinishing or oil finish wood stocks and maybe a Cerakote finish on metal work of rifles and handguns...
So you see it's small odds and ends..reasonable prices and turnaround is also nice! tu2
Again no bigtime famous maker who has sky high prices and wait times..I have other uses for them when building Custom Weapons! Thanks in Advance Guys dancing

There is or was a good all around gunsmith in Vidor, but unfortunately I do not recall his name. Can't be too many in Vidor!

That is good story!

When I first rear your request for a "small time gunsmith" I read it as 'small minded" gunsmith and had prepared a long list for you, then I read it correctly. (Chuckle) Brian
