I have a Remington Rand 1911, .45 ACP that I have not shot much - it mostly sits in the cabinet. I plan to shoot this gun and carry it occassionally.

Does anyone have a source of instructions for stripping/cleaning/reassembly procedure? I'd hate to get it apart and not be able to put it back together again.

This is probably a dumb question, but I don't know how to do it correctly.

Thanks in advance for your help.

cwilson,

<www.brownells.com>

They have a section of books devoted to the care and feeding of the 1911 and it's copies.

http://www.wilsoncombat.com Go to Misc. Accessories and order Video 396 How to dissemble and resemble a 1911 pistol. Better than a manual, if you get stuck just go to the video. I recommend this tape for anyone wanting to maintain a 1911 pistol.
