Just measured 6 originals from diff. manufactors and the averege is @ 35 cm from trigger front to middle stock back. The carbine ran 32 cm, and that is a tad short!
Did I help?

1) Swedish army 12,7x44R from 1870
2) Danish army 11,7x51R from 1874 (carbine)
3) Swedish Husquarna 8x57R from 1877 (hunting rifle)
4) Swedish army 8x58R converted in 1896 from 12,7x44R
5) Swedish army 12,7x44R converted to cal. 16 shotgun
6) Swedish army 8x58R converted to 500 nitro express with original 4x15 32" brass scope. Barrel from a WWII Spitfire 50BMG.
7) Got 2 RB's in 22 short from a fairground dating from about 1870. (not measured)!

The Danish carbine would equal a 45-65, and loaded with 63 grains Swiss #4 IT KICKS! Weighing no more than 3 kg or 6 lbs.
