I thought my wife might be feeling a bit left out by me having a rifle built for my stepfather for Christmas, so I offered to have one built for her, she didn't want one. Go figure?

(of course the last one I got her I now shoot since the muzzle brake, which will be cut off, made it too loud for her).

Maybe she would rather have a new chain saw, or some monster mud tires for her truck.

Of course you know that I mean one with a gut-hook, right? Not that Henckels euro-trash kitchen cutlery.

One of my buddies loaded a bunch of ammo for his girlfriend and gave it to her as a birthday gift! Results were as would be be expected.

Maybe she should have given him some bath beads and Hummel figurenes for his next birthday. : )

Scot,

believe it or not in my family those are accepted gifts for my mom. my stepfather is giving her conetrol rings and a scope for her rifle. of course she got a truck load of other stuff from him. I have given her ammo before though. But my wife isn't into it much so she is getting a foreman grill and a coat.

You have it backwards. I make sure my wife gets the stuff she likes. Cashmere, diamonds, whatever. Personally I see no value in the stuff but it has come back to me as shotguns, bows, flyrods, rifles, binos, etc over the years because she listens to what I want and gets me good stuff. I have come out ahead over the years. It really pisses off my buddies who get sweaters, socks, and underwear<lol>

Merry Christmas,

Jeff

Skibum,

Your wife and mine seem to operate on the same wavelength. As long as she gets her things I can get mine! Does your wife track it by monetary value? Mine does, and she holds me to it! If I buy a $XXXX rifle she had better get $XXXX blown on her. Cars don't count either as she NEEDS that luxury sports sedan to get to the grocery store (just basic trasportation you know).

I must have a special wife, she thinks it's crazy, but goes along all the way. She pays little to no attention to what I buy in the guns/hunting area, and doesn't give a hoot about expensive stuff for herself. I probably buy here more nice stuff than she actually wants, like that new Chrysler 300. On second thought, maybe she knows what she's doing??? Just kidding.

Oh, by the way, I tried the chainsaw, weedeater, rifle gift thing for her, and she wasn't that impressed, so I just quit.
