I would like to install a red dot style sight on a friends 629 S&W 44 Mag revolver.
Base design with Weaver style mounting would be optimum.
Do not want to drill the revolver. Prefer to mount with clamp or use existing tapped holes.
Would not mind removing factory rear sight.
Am capable of precision machining.
Anyone have a design that might work?

I have a B-Square mount for an N frame. No drilling or tapping. It's not a Weaver style though but the price will be right. PM me if you are interested.

Games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walks." Are you sure the 629 isn't all ready drilled? I have both a 629 and a 625 and both are. Just remove rear sight and get proper base.

It's a simple thing to drill and tap blind holes beneath the leaf sight.

Do the S&W have 3 screw holes under the sight? I have a few base and ring systems that I belive are for S&W revolvers, one is set up for weaver style rings.

I can see 3 holes in my 629 Classic, front one is front sight screw. Leupold shows their mount having 3 screws.
