A guy at the range told me to use to Fitz to get out some of the stubborn copper fouling in my .308. He says it is finer than JB bore past, and won't take much metal off at all. Well, I tried it and it seems he was right. No fouling visible with a bore light after 75 strokes. Of course after wards I wondered if using Fitz was the best thing to do, so figured I would ask the question here. | ||

I don't know if using Flitz is the "best" thing to do, but it certainly is satisfactory. The U.K. national team members have used it for many years...at least in the 1970's-1980's that I personally know of. They won a lot of the international Palma Matches ("World Series" or "Super Bowl" of long-range hi-power shooting) in those years, so it couldn't be too bad for rifle bores (Grin). My country gal's just a moonshiner's daughter, but I love her still. | |||

I use it all the time, especially on a new barrel that I give 50 plus stokes before I ever fire a shot thru it. Remember, forgivness is easier to get than permission. | |||
