Can anyone lead me to some good instructions for adjusting the trigger on a remington 700 ADL with synt stock. I need good instructions since I haven't done it before. I need to sett it a bit lighter then the factory did. (Need both hands to pull the darn thing)

It probably has a very strong spring in front of the trigger, made from .028 diameter wire. You can't adjust it down very much and still have a reasonable trigger pressure. Cutting the spring makes the situation worse. Best bet is to replace the spring (kits are available) or have a COMPETENT gunsmith do the job. Don't let "spring cutter" 'smiths touch your rifle. Trigger adjustment link This is the cite I used to adjust my trigger. The results were incredible. After adjusting the trigger I sat infront of the TV and cycled the bolt for a couple of hours while occasionally bumping the butt of the gun on the floor to make sure the thing would be safe.

I adjusted my own ADL down to 2.5 pounds. It's not too hard. You bacically have three screws. Remove the laquer first. Top rear screw adjust and watch the contact with the sear. You'll want about a quarter of an inch contact. Next the bottom rear screw. Tighten all the way while the rifle is cocked. Pull on the trigger, it won't move. Loosen screw until it fires and then turn one or two turns more. Screw in front adjusts weight of pull. You'll need a trigger scale to adjust.

After reading the instruction and thinking it over I have desided to let the trigger be. I can live with it a bit longer. I'll take it to a gunsmith rather than f__k up first and then having a gunsmith fix it.

Bob257 has it about right.

308winchester: This is not that difficult to do. Trigger adjustments generally scare people more than necessary. Follow the instructions and it can be safely and easily done. Having your smith do it is also an option, but maybe you should do it and have your gunsmith check it out after the fact.
