I'm going to need a top of the line recoil pad for my H&R 45-120, the metal buttplate just isn't reducing recoil to where I want it. Big Grin

I have narrowed the choices down to Limbsaver and Kick-Eez. I work at a shotgun club, and almost all higher end shotguns seem to have a Kick-Eez, so they must work well. I also found that if you put them in hot water to soften them up, you can conform them to the curve of a buttstock, which my H&R has. But, if the Limbsaver is that much better, I'll just sand the stock flat. I also like that the Kick-Eez is available in a 1-3/8" thickness, because I need a longer LOP.

And one more question, black or brown for a plain walnut stock? I have never seen many brown recoil pads, how do they look?

Love shooting precision and long range. Big bores too!

Recent college grad, started a company called MK Machining where I'm developing a bullpup rifle chassis system.

Pacmyer D752B is my choice.

I have a kickeez I installed on a shot gun that is nice also, though I hear the kickezz can tear easy. The The D752B is a more durable material

My only experience with Kick-eez is the Finger-eez, which is a recoil pad for your middle finger. It comes in medium and large sizes. You put it on your middle finger, right up to your palm. It absorbs the impact of the trigger guard against your knuckle. Brownells sells it. Great idea!!

I highly recommend the Kick-Eez. I've used and installed Kick-Eez pads for years and have never had any problems with them. The only one that I have seen damaged was a hunter using his rifle as a walking stick - holding the barrel and using the butt on rocky terrain. I'm sure that would have ruined most pads.
