No not THAT way! I brought home a commercial Husky 98 action in 9.3 x 62. Rifle is in pretty good shape, especially for the price. I had to fix the safety, a Parker hale two position, no big deal. However, someone bedded the action about 1/10" high. It sticks up out of the stock about that much. Bedding at the recoil lug, about 2" of barrel, a little at the front sides of the action (towards the magazine well, and a bit under the rear tang. The stock is a classic style with nice grain and color so I would like to keep it. Anyone have any ideas about an easy way to get the bedding out? Or am i just going to get out the Dremel and start grinding? thanks - Dan

No you don't have to grind it out.... Take your wifes hairblower and turn it on high and heat the glass for about 10 minutes or so, the start cutting the glass out with a U chisel or whatever...Keep the blower going in the left hand and slicing out the softened glass with the right.....It will reduce to the consistency of clay... ------------------

Ray, question . Can you heat it up enough to quickly put everything back together with stockmakers screws & tighten the action down to the proper depth? Since it is just the actions lug & tang area & not the barrel this might just work if the compound softens up enough. The big question is will the compound reharden once it cools off.
