I am just a couple days out from getting home from Iraq. It has been interesting to say the least.

But the problem I haveis that I have a deer hunt I am going on a week after I get home. I want to take my Remington 30S Express 30/06. It has a Lyman 48 installed, but is missing the inserts. Where can I get a couple inserts? I would really appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction so I can get some ordered in time for my hunt.
Thanks.

M1Tanker-

Lyman referred me to Bill Zipadelli, (860) 691-1891 for M48 parts.

I think the hunting is better without any kind of aperature screwed in. Thanks...Bill.

There seems to always be someone selling some on Ebay. I'd be surprised if a search for "Lyman sight" or similar doesn't produce a hit for the apertures.

Brownell's carries individual apertures and also 3-paks, one each of each size. They are available in 3/8" or 1/2" diameter. I like the smallest outside diameter with the largest hole. Making the hole bigger if need be is no big trick. A lot of folks like the ghost ring effect of the sight with the aperature removed, but my eye can't find the ring very well without something screwed in it to give it more definition.

The one Brownells carries are for Williams sights but I'm 99% sure that they'll fit your Lyman. At least mine always do. They use a 7/32-40tpi thread. You can talk to Brownell's tech line and ask them to be sure, 800-741-0015.
