I suppose anything is possible, however, I don't believe the gain would justify the problems you are certain to encounter in setting the weapon up for this round.
As previously discussed elsewhere's, the design of the Ackley improved cartridges usually requires a .004 crush on the case, or, a headspace setting of -.004 so as to provide the necessary hold on the brass to fully form the case.
By design, the AR-15's bolt cannot provide anything close to this degree of crush. It isn't designed to reliably function with any negative headspace setting for that matter. Couple this with possible feeding problems, bolt, buffer and gas port timing problems, and you may regret taking on the project.
A friend of mine shoots an Ackley space gun. He seems to like it. He shoots factory ammo in it and it spits out fire-formed Ackley cases. He shoots Master scores with it, so I guess it can't be all bad.
