Austin HunterWood Removal Question
Does anyone use a thumb plane to remove and thin stocks? I've normally used #49 and #50 cabinet files (and a real aggressive one I just picked up), but tried a thumb plane I had laying around this weekend and it was great! Keeps things squared, not file marks, can do LONG custs/removals easily.
Now, I still need to use the rasps and files around the grips and butt.
Just curious.

ramrod340Sure. File, rasp, chisel, gouge, scraper, plane etc. Whatever works for the area.
