For the passing of George Jones today. We keep the XM radio tuned to Willie's Place all day ( except during Rush) and sometimes I get to singin' along. I'm going to miss the Possum, but we'll always have his music. Rest in peace George.

He Stopped Loving Her Today may be the finest country western song ever recorded.

I often think that "Who's gonna fill their shoes" was written about him

Yep "He stopped loving her today" has got to be his best. I am sure "Who's gonna fill their shoes" was autobiographical.

Among his later (?) stuff I liked "I saw the writing on the wall"and "Radio Lover"........I also liked "The Corvette song".

He certainly sang his share of junk, as do they all, but I particularly liked the easy listening ones with great lyrics and good music.

Rest in Peace Possum.
