I have a new set of Williams Oberndorf bottom metal that when latched leaves a gap between the frame and the floor plate. It almost appears that the latch itself was milled short. I've had others and this is the first that is like that.

It took me several months to import so I have no interest in sending it back.

Any thoughts on correcting the problem?

Pull the latch lever out, weld on it a bit, file to fit.

Take some measurements of the floor plate and send them to Williams. Maybe they could send you a replacement floorplate without the export/import issues of the complete triggerguard.
