Greetings Forum! I haven't posted here before, but I've read tons and really like the site. Here's where I'm at... I have an American WWII bring-back all matching ERMA barreled action from early 1940 (27/40, 280s, serial # 7xxx) that was re-blued in the mid 1950s, put in an old sporter stock and never shot (traces of the the blueing in the barrel is all I get out of it when cleaning it). I have purchased a B&C Medalist stock for it... the new version with the full-length aluminum bedding-block. The barrel channel looks like it'll fit the stepped military barrel quite well after being opened up just a tad in one or two spots, BUT the bottom metal won't drop in. It looks to me like the spring housing for the floorplate release protrudes farther up towards the block than they allowed room for (i.e. there is composite under the block and in the way of the housing). My question is..... has anyone here encountered this issue and if so exactly how did you inlet around the spring-housing? Thanks in advance, fellow Mauser fans! Haycock

I use a Dremel tool with a 1/8 inch router bit to open small areas. _______________________________________________________________________________ This is my rifle, there are many like it but this one is mine. My rifle is my best friend, it is my life.

I ended up removing an arc of composite and aluminum with a dremel and it fit fine. I also fully floated the barrel and cut out a little room around the bottom metal of the front action screw so I can glass it in place. Haycock
