Would a 280 reamer clean up a 7x64 chamber?

I'm too lazy to draw it up. But, Ammoguide says the 280 should clean up a 7x64.

As usual just my $.02

He can save it from the reamer, and buy it from me. I have a deal for him. Smiler I know he loves good deals.

Lol. I think it would clean up. But why? The 280 isn't exactly on the shelves at Walmart. But you can buy 7x64 ammo from grafs cheaper than buying brass

I've decided to sell it because it will cost more than I want to spend right now to have it installed.

Besides, I have a new LW barrel prechambered and threaded in 7x64. It will be easier for the gunsmith since a reamer isn't needed. Smiler

That ammo is so cheap almost makes me want a 7x64. Big Grin

I bought several boxes of it and had it shipped to my friend in Texas. Then when I went there for hog hunting I brought it back in checked baggage. I can't imagine the law being right that I can't have ammo shipped to me in Alaska, but I can bring it back as checked baggage - up to 50 lbs on Alaska Air. I maxed out a couple of times. Big Grin

It's not only Grafs. I've bought several boxes of Norma ammo and brass off GB, for really good prices. Same deal - to TX then AK in checked baggage.

The thing I really like about the 7x64 is the one I have has a fast twist and long throat, and I have well over 1,000 175gr 7mm bullets. Those long Sierra 175gr BTs are awesome.

I'll tell you something that I did, and wouldn't recommend to anyone.

My rifle doesn't shoot the Hornady factory ammo from Grafs accurately. I don't know why. So, I bought a bullet puller to fit in my press and pulled a box of bullets. I measured the powder charge in several cases. I was surprised at the consistancy of the weight. Then I dumped all the powder into my powder measurer. I sized the neck of the brass to get the tension on the bullet back, without touching the primer. (I pulled the depriming pin)

Then I recharged the brass with the same powder that came out of it, but about three grains less. Next I seated some 175gr Sierra bullets. That turned out to be a very accurate load, and showed no adverse signs to worry about.

So, I'm pulling all the Hornady factory bullets and substituting the Sierras. And I'm saving the Hornady bullets to shoot in another rifle, maybe my 7x57.

Now you're a real "reloader". Remember, all rifle shooters used to handload...
