What's the longest cartridge to fit in a 1903 Springfield?
Is it practicle to attempt a .404 Jeffery or something of that nature on a Springfield?

can be done .. just takes good bottommetal and a GOOD gunsmith ...

i've done 300winmang and 416 AR (3.35 max oal) and consider that the max that can clear a loaded round without a good deal of mods.

i think 3.4 openig the box that's there already. 416taylor,458 win. lots of wildcats. probably the ruger/newtons.
