I am looking for a gunsmith on the I-5 corridor between Portland and Eugene. I need a simple cut and crown to remove Bubba's handy-work. A short turnaround time, 30 days or less would be great.

The two gunsmiths in Salem are backed-up three months and are not interested in doing small jobs right now.

Thanks
ZM

And Chuck Engelking in Roseburg (Chuck's Barrels & Chambers). An ex-aerospace machinist/toolmaker, Chuck is meticulous and builds a lot of successful benchrest rifles. His e-mail is

My country gal's just a moonshiner's daughter, but I love her still.

Try RANGEMASTERGUNWORKS in Albany. It is about
7 miles east of Albany at what is locally called the Cottonwoods intersection. Yellow
one story building. Owner is Jeff Hutchins.
He does things right or not at all. Open 11am to 7pm Tuesday through Friday and 11-5 on Saturday. Sometimes closes on Wednesday to get caught up. He is busy but has reasonable turn around time. Phone is 541-928-5054. Let the phone ring awhile!

I plan to keep the gun in 30-06. Made that decision today after shooting it a bit.
Just need a cut and crown. I'll give some of those folks a call.

Thanks

Another one to add to the call list...

Don Norris

He's about 2 minutes off I-217 in Beaverton. Most reasonable that I found for a re-chambering job. No-nonsense type of guy.

Keep posting guys! I like finding out about gunsmiths near me that I didn't know about!
Allways looking for a good 'smith. I usually
find one and then he either dies, moves, or quits 'smithing to preserve his sanity.

These two guys are in Southern Oregon, but I will swear by Kevin Wyatt, ( Wyatt's Outdoor) in Medford, and John Noveske here in Grants Pass.

Cheers
