Ruger 77 blind mag

If you were to convert a 77 to blind magazine configuration, would you;

A) make the front screw escutcheon from the regular Ruger front hinge (with the funny angled screw) or,

B) drill and tap a hole in the flat behind the recoil lug like a Model 70 and use a regular escutcheon

What I did was drilled the hole the size of the bolt and then counter sunk the size of the head. Then used epoxy to place a washer in the stock for the screw head to pull against. Worked fine and you didn't have that big escutcheon.

I used the angled screw. It is hidden about 1/2" below the base of the stock.
