A couple months ago, I took a Baikal/Remington 221 30/06 in trade as part of a gun sale. My FFL guy got went thru an in depth review by the Feds while the gun was at his shop, and I couldn't get to look at it during the three day window. It took them three weeks, and they found no problems. So I had to accept the gun as is. I found that a previous owner had filed the sears to ease the trigger pull, and in so doing, made it so the rear trigger is not protected by the safety. My local gunsmith has been looking for new sears for me, with no luck. I was wondering if someone knows where to get a pair of new sears? Or if anybody knows someone who might build up the existing sears and tune them up, if that is even possible. Thanks Bfly Work hard and be nice, you never have enough time or friends. | ||

Just got a call today. EAA finally came thru with the parts. It took new sears, new sear springs and new hammers, and a new safety. Amazing how much damage someone can do with a not quite enough knowledge and a box of files. Thank goodness he didn't have a dremel.
