Was reloading some ammo for a 350 Rem Mag this morning. Ok, what do you do when your seating die is already set for OAL, and the rounds won't fit into a rifle you just got? Screw in the seater plug more? No, you pull the barrel and run the throat deeper. Problem solved. Yes they still fit the mag. See, it was a Gunsmithing thing after all.

When you own only a hammer, all problems are nails. So, if you are a gunsmith, all ....

Given how under capacity the .350 Rem Mag is, any loss of powder space is bad... Looks like you took the hard way to correct the problem... but its the right one!

Not that hard; took about 5 minutes. I get 60 grains of powder in them easily, and the cartridge is very efficient; I get 2700 fps with a 220 grain bullet. I have 4 of them and now all of them have the same chamber/throat. I build them on long actions so I can seat the bullet out.

just wondering Tom buy why not just use the Whelen for the same thing?

Why would I want to shoot something for which you can buy ammo? It's the novelty of it. I think I just did a Whelen for a guy....
