Friends-

I have a really nice VZ-24 action and I am really thinking about going with a .338 Winchester Mag as the chambering.

Is the .338 WinMag to intense for the VZ-24?

I do plan on having it re-heat treated.

Thanks in advance.

there is no difference between a 257 weatherby, a 264 win mag, a 270 weatherby, a 7mm rem mag, a 458 win mag and a 338 win mag as far as the action is concerned.

The VZ-24 will handle it nicely!!!!!

Add a three position safety and it'll be a great action...

1) open the bolt face
2) open the extractor claw
3) open the length of the mag well to 3.34 + tipping clearance
4) remove material from the feed lips of the receiver
5) Make up some dummy cartridges and get it to feed.
