Do any of you smiths own a set of 22-204 reamers? I have a 23" contender barrel I would like to get opened up. Thanks, Al

Me too, thats why I asked.

Except I think a "22-204" reamer would probably be 3X the cost of a "222 Rem Mag" reamer! Smiler

the 22-204 is the 204 ruger necked up to 224.
It can be done wiyh a 204 Ruger reamer and a 224 pilot, then cutting the throat seperatly.

If you neck up a .204 to .224, don't you end up back to a .223 Rem?

I'm guessing 'no' because why would you do it.

What do you actually gain by doing this over a standard chambered .223 Rem?

NO....you get the parent cartridge...the 222 Remington Magnum.

The .204 Ruger would have been made on the .223 case except then Hornady/Ruger would have had to paid royalties to the woodchuck den! So they chose to make it on the 222 Rem Mag case.

I, personally prefer the .20-.223 or the 20 vartag (IIRC) over the .204 Ruger as I have a lot of .223 brass hanging around.
