For those interested in upgrading their factory floormetal.
I finally finished the Rigby project and have started making chips on the mini mauser floormetal project. I posted some Rigby pics on the bigbore forum. The floormetal I'm making will work for the 223 & 22-250 miniX & cdaly. The trigger guard will be 5/8" wide and the front rails will just over fill the factory inlet. Please PM me and let me know how many you need. They are $250 each. I will pay shipping in USA. Thank you very much for your business. If you don't like the floormetal then send it back & I'll refund your money. I hope to be shipping these by early June.
Sincerely
gunmaker

max(hm2)jim,
you got a pm and i'll be sending you payment.
thanks,

jeffe,
I'm with you on the stock pattern - a real sorta Mini-Mauser, Sako L action type stock would be very nice.
My original was already re-worked, narrowed, lightened, recoil pad installed and the poorly done checkering sanded off, etc.. Looks O.K. but I'd be just as happy to start a fire with that nondescript piece of hardwood.
Cheers,

I've got a cute little blank that's patiently waiting for the metal work to be finished. Unfortunately the holes are already cut for the release button on the original bottom metal, but a little careful patch work should take care of that.
Gunmaker of course is doing the bottom metal and Shane Thompson is doing the rest of it.
You can get these at GAG if anyone is interested. Be sure and tell Henry what you want to leave out. He claims these are almost a press fit so he cuts for the bolt handle, safety, factory barrel and I found out the hard way, the floorplate release.

It would be nice if you could change a few lines in your program and make that bottom metal for the Short Action Model 70 Winchester Classic as well.

prof242Is there any way to slightly "stretch" the magazine box/make new one and modify the action to allow maybe a lengthening for cartridges on this small action? This primarily for seating out bullets. I want the lefty, but don't want a .223 (got 5 now). A .250-3000, maybe AI, is what I'm thinking.

Not with that shape he doesn't.
I know Sunnyhill makes a bow release straddle floorplate assembly for the S/A winchester, but it ain't cheap

prof242,
My thinking exactly.....
I've got a L/H Mini-Mauser .22-250 Rem. and it IS going to make the transition to a .250 Savage!

lawndartIs there any cast off in the GAG stocks.
I sent my check in. I'm doing a switch barrel.
.223 set up for 77 grain HPBT, with suppressor, and another barrel in 300 Whisper, with, of course, suppressor.
Then, I just need to sneak by the Ghillie.....
