Has anyone had their Remington "factory look alike" steel and aluminum bottom metal? What are your thoughts and are they dimensionally the same as each other? From the picture on their site the trigger bow on the steel version looks a little beefier and shaped differently. Thanks a bunch.

Dont know about the Remington metal but I seem to remember from a year ago that they were preparing to make Mauser bottom metal. Last time I checked - nothing. What's up with that?

This is PTG Oberndorf style Bottom Metal I fitted to my Kenny Jarrrett McMillan stocked Rem 700. Very Happy with it...

They never delivered on a stainless model 7 bottom metal I ordered from them.Had to cancel and build without bottom metal. In all fairness it wasn't a standard item, but it was promised in 6 weeks and I cancelled after 6 months. Dunno what they're up to out there.

Hi,

I ordered a PT&G 700 bottom metal a couple of years ago and discovered it to be beefy as the OP suggested. Since I am not afraid of using a file, emery cloth and lay-out fluid it now is streamlined and hand polished. Quite the improvement over stock Remington metal. BTW I installed a 3-postiion safety, also.
Well worth the money and their prices are reasonable. Regarding customer service which, I agree, is a bit quirky; a call to Ashley every couple of weeks helps. While on the phone, ask her to bug the guys in the shop. One never knows what a machine operator might find lurking under a bench.

Luck,

Stephen

They were going to do some Vanguard/Howa bits as well. They've disappeared from the website along with the Mauser gear..

Dave makes the bottom metal for the Remmy custom shop. I have been using it for years on many of my builds. Has both alum and steel.
