Just wondering who out there fall into this category. Wondering about getting more options for after market components and keeping the LH model 70 in production (no indication that it won't). Mostly just curious however.

I have five MRC actions on order.. All are lefthanded actions. I will be having a .416 Remington, .458 Lott, Lightweght .308 and a lightwieght .223 built on them.
I will be selliing a Remington .308, and two custom (.308 & .375) rifles built on SAKO actions and the MRC/M70 action will be my primary action type.
I have a LH short action MCR on order that will end up as a 358, I also have LH 700BDL in 270, LH A-Bolt in 7-08, LH Model 70 in 338 I have another LH Model 70 Featherweight in 300WSM on order but I just keep waiting and waiting for that one. All my real hunting rifles are lever actions though
I've got a MRC left handed short action on order. I have Savages, Remingtons and Rugers but no Winchesters, because Winchester was one of the last companies to build left handed guns. Plus they've always had the least offerings (Long actions only, the standard 30.06, 270, 7 Mag, etc.) so I never bought any. I filled those holes years ago with M77's, 700's and 110's. Then and now, I'm buying short actions with more 110's, 700's, 788's and now 1999's.

Have had LH Savage short and long actions, 2 LH Rem. 700 Short Actions and now have 3 Sako (Mag, Long, Med lenghts) and a LH Cooper .22 RF. If I were dissatisfied with any of my current Sako's I would not hesitate to buy a M-70 or other quality LH rifle. Some I have passed on were an early Weatherby (Champlin action) and a Saur, both because I already had comparable calibers. Kind of kick myself for passing the Saur it was very light, just didn't need another .270. As all of you "correct handed" folks know there is very little variety in caliber in LH rifles.

Chuck, What options are you looking for? I've got 2 M1999 LH actions on order, one headed to Jim Brockman for 458Lott and another to be barreled at MRC to 30-06. Jim will finish it out with same sights as the Lott (Scout Scope mount and his GenIII apeture setup). The 06 is to be the practice rifle for the Lott, and will share the same stock. I'm sure I'll find soemthing else to rebarrel to eventually, but that's the plan now.
I have a LA LH MRC ordered, MRC will barrel to .375 H&H for me. I also ordered a SA LH MRC for a 7x57 by John Ricks. Depending on how the Montana actions work for me I may order more of them.
At home I have lefty rifles by Browning, Ruger and Savage. I'd buy a Kimber if they'd make a lefty centerfire.
For our loaner rifles for clients we use the post-90 M70. I have a 2 .270 and 2 .338 in RH and LH. All 4 are the LT version, supposed Miller designed stock. They took alittle tune up but work well. The .270 have 6x burris sign. The .338 have 4x burris fullfields. We use the federal 130 partion and the Remington 250 swift loads.

I have three left handed Winchester Model 70's and one left hand Remington 700. If you are looking for after market (read McMillan for me) stocks for your left hand rifle they are available but you will pay a premium and wait a little longer. I find there are a lot more options for the left hand remingtom actions vs. the winchester. Each design has its pros and cons.
I wouldn't hesitiate to purchase another left hand action. When I heard Winchester was no longer making the stainless left hand model 70, I went ahead and bought a couple of more....any excuse for one more rifle.

I am also interested in the number of left handed shooters that would be looking for another aftermarket fiberglass Mod-70 stock. It would easily adapt to the MRC 375 length left hand action.I have a pattern that will allow a left handed shooter to use a left handed Mod-70 action or a right handed action for those that grew up using a right handed action but would still like to use a true left handed stock. I have held off on having McMillan make the mold due to the variable interest by you lefty's. The mold will cost as much as a quality auto hence the hesitation. The retail cost for each stock would run $315.00 without paint, pad or swivels. It would be a "drop in" in regards to the inletting. Point pattern checkering, cheek piece, shadow line etc. In short a mirror image of my standard right handed Legend stock but set up for Left hand application. But if only four people are interested I'm reluctant to make the financial plunge. So is there enough interest to make this fly ?
This is actually why I posted, sorry for not being up front (I've emailed a few of you) in the beginning. Just didn't want to step on D'Arcy's toes. We lefty's need to help ourselves out.

Of course southpaws could best help themselves out by learning to shoot right handed! I've been shooting right handed rifles off the left shoulder for almost 30 years now but I am going to try my first left handed rifle when I get around to making it. I'm not quite sure what configuration it will take but I think I'll probably make a prone rifle so I'm of no value when it comes to building up stock numbers. D'Arcy, I hear ya on the cost of those molds! I queried one glass stock maker about producing a target pattern for me. The cost was high enough I figured I was too old to be able to recover the cost! Regards, Bill.
I am not as greedy as you all, but have tenatively slated Ricks to do a 375 Ultra for me on the MRC magnum. I am interested in any stocks available. I was opting to use my LEA status for a McMillan discount. Will still be over $385. Ready to talk shop with other lefties. Kinda wanted to get the stock order rolling and almost filled out an order form today. Let's hear what's up.

Put me down for 3 of them! Want a deposit? Jeff

I have two left-hand M70 classics, in 30-06 and 338 WM, both of the stainless/wood variety. In response to Mr. Echols query, I would most certainly be interested in the opportunity to acquire one of his stocks built for a left hand M70. And I also would be willing to put down a deposit to back that up.
I have one LH LA MRC on order to be finished-up as a .30-06. Just got my Richard's Microfit Thumbhole Target a day or so ago. I took almost exactly 4 months (7/17) from order received to product delivered on 11/13. All I can say is that I have alot of shaping and sanding to do.

I wouldn't run out and invest money in a mold for left hand actions. Left handed rifles simply don't sell. I'm left handed and shoot left handed and see rifles sitting on shelves for years. The only time they move out,is after major reduction in price occurs. I've run into plenty of other lefties and can count on one hand, how many of these people actually shot a left handed rifle.

I'm interested in at least one left handed action for a MRC short action, if it ever gets delivered. As far as there not being many left handed shooters, I've got two safes full of left handed rifles from 30 year old 788's, to brand new 300WSM's to lefthanded muzzleloaders. I buy at least one new left handed rifle a year.

What percentage of the population is left-handed? If it's at least ten percent, we should rise up and demand our rights. Remeber, Kinsey in his (very flawed) research in the 1940s (or was it the 1950s?) put forth that 10% of the population was homosexual and they are using that number today to ram their militant, anti-family agenda down our throats. We southpaws should adopt the same strategy.

I'm another lefty with several actions on order with MRC that would be very happy if D'Arcy's Legend stocks were available in left-hand.
If one mold could be made that would produce stocks able to accomodate inletting for left-handed Remingtons, Winchesters, Savages, Sakos and MRC actions, I believe the mould investment expense could be recouped in short order.

I missed out on the first go-round of the MRC actions. If anyone has an extra standard length stainless on order, please email me...I'd like to pick one up!
And yet, D'Arcy's Legend stock is where I'm headed, too!
I own two LH Mod.70's SS Classic's both in 30-06. One has the BOSS system and is incredibly accurate, has a walnut free floating stock with a check piece. The other Mod. 70 has the standard 24 in. barrel, I dropped the walnut stock for the McMillian Super Grade stock. This one is my hunting rifle. The McMillian stock free floats the barrel, and it shoots. With that said, I think one would be hard pressed to match the quality of the McMillian inspite of the cost and wait, IMO........I've tried the others. No thanks........Winchester's Custom shop has submitted to McMillian for their LH AllWeather rifles.
