Here you see Roy duplicating a stock for a Remington 700 stock to be use for a 300 Remington Ultra.

Below is a photo of our bullet making CNC machine.





You can see the RCBS digital scale on the table, and next to it two orange boxes with white labels on them.

Depending on the material we are using, the weight of bullets can vary. So I weigh each bullet, and segregate them to be within 1 grain in each lot.

Sometimes they have to be seperated into 5 or 6 different weight groups, each are with 1 grain of each other. We do this for consistency.

My friend Ron suggested we make flat point bullets in brass, and I have made some.

I will post photos in the next day or two.

Walter managed to cause the tool head to smash against the rotating collet a few years ago.

He was fascinated by how the machine rotates the turren head and move different tools as the bullet was made.

He got himself a cup of coffee, and was standing looking through the window. He raised his right hand to drink, and in doing so managed to touch the control feed with his elbow!

There was an almight CRUNCH and the machine came to a sudden stop.

It cost us a few thousands dollars to fixe the machine, and it was offline for a while!

You have wonderful toys and excellent help.
All I have is a set of files and worn out sandpaper.

That's a Hoenig duplicator and it's awesome, nice choice! So awesome that Purdy;s and whatnot are made on them!

And you could build most of one of my eponymous whirlybirds with that "bullet" lathe!

I use a bastard cut mill file to make my bullets.

Crashing a machine happens never is fun.

Just broke the tool cross feed on my lathe.

But that was only 130.00

I brought the lathe used 30 years ago. When it broke I found out the guy I brought it from had broke it and repaired in by brazeing the part togather. It broke at the braze.

somehow I see a disaster in the making - walter being near operating machines

I've gone through custom mausers, sakos, custom sakos, ZGs and I can honestly say that I prefer a remington 700....... mine only have the barrel and action remaining but add a Mcmillan, some decent bottom metal, a Jewel and you have a great hunting rifle with most importantly of all a superb trigger.
