SAFARIKIDMost compact mount for a Double 12ga.?
Thinking about putting one of the smaller lightweight red Dots on the rib..maybe a single mount so what would be the best and cleanest?
Or
May consider a pair to mount a small compact scope for this future Boar Blaster with 18" barrels and Dixie Triball's!

470EvansTom,
I had JJ put a base for a reflex sight on my double rifle. He milled the sides of the rib and the base screws on and off with the cartridge rim, works very well.

SAFARIKIDI just saw the photo,do you have a close up of the mount on the rib?..Thanks
(Is there a reason you mounted it so far forward?)

Looks like there isn't enough rib proud of the barrels to mount it further back.

470EvansThe main reason for the mounting position is it butts up against the rear site which prevents if from creeping forward under recoil.

SAFARIKIDSounds good...
May be the way to go for a 50 yard ".727 Express" Boar Blaster!

Rick RIf you look at the way they mount an RDS on a Glock pistol you might come up with some ideas to bounce around with your gunsmith.
Some type of plate that the RDS directly bolts to with back up irons would get the dot as close as possible to the bore.

jeffeossoTom,
mount a short section of aluminum picatiny rail via 2 screws in the rib - while you are at it, have yoru smith make stippled filler screws to fit back into the rib with matching pattern to cover it up, if you take it off. making the filler screws match will take longer than the whole rest of the thing.
