I have a Marlin 39 Century model with the stupid medallion in the receiver and want to take it out.
Any ideas on how to get it out of the depression without ruining the receiver?

Don't remove it. Use "Blackit" for brass to blacken it.

If it is glued in; freeze the receiver then whack it with a plastic hammer. If it is soldered in, you will have to heat it up. If it is swaged in, you will have to mill it out.

If it's expoxied in, heat it. If Michael Jackson installed it, just beat it.
