If you have a nice all matching # persian, don't butcher it. these are going for quite a bit of money now days. If you really need to make a mauser sporter go find a vz 24 or 98/22 action for 70-80 bucks and sell that persian to a collector for 200$ plus. In my opionion if you pick 3 of the top military mausers ever made the persian will be one of them if not at the top

persian mausers are exceptionally rare and well made and it would be a great sin to alter one of them.

I heard Persians brand new in the crate were 25 cents each, a few years ago in Afganistan!
