What is the differences between a Model 7 and a 700? Someone told me they have the same action. Is this true?

I like the way someone explained it to me. The 700 is a K/L frame, and the 7 is a J-frame. I only wish they would make one of the 7s in LH.

Good answer Victor. The two actions are basically the same design, the 7 is just a shorter version. Basically the old 600 action with a 700 trigger and bolt handle. Not interchangable though. - Dan
