I have the above mentioned rifle and it groups OK, but i think it could really do a whole lot better with a trigger job. Is there anything a guy can do at home (Without spending a lot of money) to make the trigger pull any better. There is a ton of creep and at my best guess without a trigger scale the pull is about 12#. Any ideas? Thanx, Mark

Chip McCormick makes a drop-in trigger, I got one for my Bushmaster & really love it, find them at Midway or Cabelas or Chip's site Jim fur, feathers, & meat in the freezer "Pass it on to your kids"

you can buy several different trigger for ar's the mccormick is good, so is timneys etc. but you're going to invest at least 150 in a total replacement. or you can buy spring kits for a fraction of the replacement price. honing the mating surfaces, buffing the pins etc. one caution however, much of the trigger pull weight is due to the hammer spring. if you get that to light some ammo isn't going to go off. I've found that anything much under 3 1/2-4#'s becomes somewhat unreliable with military primers

I sent my Armalite trigger group to White Oak Precision and I believe a gentleman by the name of Mr. Hollinger(?) worked it over to a fantastic trigger pill and smoothness that will rival some of the most expensive triggers. I also sent the one out of my Rock River Arms 'Varminter' at the same time and it came back the same way. Unfortunetly I can't enjoy them at this time as they are back home in storage and I am stuck here in the Socialist Republik of Kalifornia for a while. Steve E........ Mark, I believe that Steve said he sent his existing trigger to John Holliger to be reworked. That is White Oak Armament. He comes on this forum from time to time as Gas Gunner. He does excellent work and is reasonable. He is also a hell of a marksman. I will get contact info if you wish. Butch http://www.whiteoakarmament.com/

p dog, you won't be sorry, they fight good and are easy to install, just remember to drop the pistol grip so you can remove the spring and pin holding the safety, safety has to be out of the way to drop it in Jim fur, feathers, & meat in the freezer "Pass it on to your kids"

If you watch the trigger and hammer work together with the upper off you'll see that the trigger cams the hammer back just before letoff creating that creepy feel. You can stone the sears to create a lighter pull, it'll last about fifty rounds then go full auto because you cut thru the surface hardening. I didn't make that mistake, but I know people who have. I used the J&T trigger for a great single stage trigger on the flat top Frankenrifle, at a cost of about $100.00. The two stage Rock River uses is very sweet too, I believe you can buy them from RRA. If I were doing it again, I'd go with one of the units you drop in, I believe McCormick makes them.

I've used a Timney 3 lb. with great results and a JARD which is a real piece of crap. -------------------------------------------- Well, other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

John put a Geissele in mine and of course it is great, but I think I would visit with him before I made any decision. Butch

Check out this link. This will work for you, if you are handy enough to put a lower parts kit in an AR you can do it.http://www.sargenthome.com/15_Minute_AR_Trigger_Job.htm A shot not taken is always a miss
