I have a Ruger m77 tang safety rifle that needs a new stock. Can I modify a m77 Mk II stock to fit it or no?

Look at the top extended tang and compare it with the slope of the new stock.

You can bend the tang to fit but the safety link will have to be either altered or remade. OR you could just cut the extended portion of the tang plumb off and fit a three position safety.
