First, I have a Win mod 70 Safari Express in 375H&H. Can a muzzle brake be installed without destroying the front sight? Is this as simple as remove the sight, thread the barrel, mill off the front of the sightbase and reinstall? Second, Anyone else discovered how handy your "old" ignition wrenches are when working on guns? I am usually way behind the curve on tooling--I am not a smith. I was adjusting the trigger on the 70 above and found the ignition wrenches to be perfection! Two options if recoil is that bad for you. One install a mercury recoil reducer in the stock. then the gun is left in as near factory condition as possible. two don't install a muzzle break but send it out to be magna ported. Won't be as good as a break but will not destroy the front sight or foul up the gun. I prefer to leave the rifle as close to factory as possible and use other options to reduce recoil. www.KLStottlemyer.com Deport the Homeless and Give the Illegals citizenship. On my CZ .375H&H , I have fitted the mercury tube in the back. It did make a bit of a difference. But most of all, it balanced the front heavy rifle beautifully. I also fitted a supressor, which turned it into a .308 , except for the fact that it can throw 300gr'ers. Obviously the supressor makes it a bit uncomfortable in the thick stuff, so I keep it for plains game. I have debated this before. I don't want Mag-na-Port because it cannot be capped...I don't hunt with hearing protection. With a break I could have a cap also. I guess the merc tube is the way to go. I was messin' with the gun last night and the balance point is way farther forward than most of my other shootin' irons.
